| Studio of Creative ArtsArt classes are in session - register any time. CHILDREN'S CLASSES Regular art classes are held on Tuesday afternoons from 3:30 to 5:30pm from September 20th through June. The cost is $90 per month and includes all supplies. In these fine arts classes, students will learn the elements of art, line shape, form, composition and color. They will also learn how to draw using perspective. Students will draw and paint from real life and from observing styles of the great masters. They will learn traditional and modern techniques. Each student is taught according to individual ability. Emmy-award winning artist and educator Joanne DeFlorio will be the instructor for this class.
Oakeside is pleased to offer sewing classes in association with the So You Sewing and Design Studio. Classes will be held on Wednesday afternoons from 4 to 6pm starting on October 5th. The cost is $400 per person for the ten-week course and includes all materials and supplies. Classes are led by teacher Vivian Burns. They are appropriate for both youth and adults. Participants will learn how to read, lay out, pin and cut a commercial pattern as well as put in a zipper, use interfacings and learn basic fitting. Each student will make a pair of pants, a skirt and a dress. Participants are encouraged to bring their own sewing machines, if they have one; So You will supply machines for those without their own.
